About Us

Breaking the Silence was born from unimaginable loss—and transformed into a mission of love, advocacy, and healing.

Founded by Tonya Jones, a mother, nurse, and U.S. Navy veteran, this brand was created to honor the memory of her only son, DJ, who died by suicide. DJ was full of light, laughter, and compassion for others, even as he battled silent pain. His story—and Tonya’s journey through grief—became the foundation for her memoir, Breaking the Silence: A Mother’s Journey Through Loss and Advocacy.

What started as a book became something more: a way to spread awareness, offer comfort, and create change. Through meaningful apparel, powerful messages, and open conversations, we aim to bring hope to those navigating mental health struggles and grief.

Every piece we offer carries a message of strength, remembrance, and the reminder that you are not alone. A portion of all proceeds goes directly toward suicide prevention efforts and mental health resources.

This is more than a store—it’s a movement to turn pain into purpose, and silence into strength.
